Default Gauge Clusters

What is compatible with my car?

1998 Impreza 2.5 RS

I know the JDM WRX clusters of the same chasis are a direct fit. What about GD and GE chasis?

this has been duscussed and has several threads on it..yes the GD's can be used but require some modding..one of the threads has a pic of it...if you find the threads all your questions should be answered.
Take it easy, Micah

I have a JDM '97 V4 cluster and it is plug and play with my MY98.

However, while the plugs are correct, the wires do not match correctly (CEL blinks with left turn signal, etc). That problem I am trying to figure out myself using a pair of 6V batteries, but I don't have enough free time, so the project has taken a back burner.

As well, I haven't had any luck finding information on the web, and others who might have the ability to get me the info have been less than helpful.

If you come across anything for that model, I'd greatly appreciate it.

The back side of the V4 looks exactly like the MY98, and the plugs are all the same. It's just that some of the cicuits do not line up.

Hope this helps, and feel free to contact me if fortune smiles upon you.

Homemade WRX:

I have been searching and I can't find that thread with the pic you are talking about. Do you remember any more details about that might help me pull the thread up?

It was Eby's car. You have to do custom cluster mounts and some bondo to get the USDM WRX cluster to fit. Not sure about the electronic speedo going into a mechanical car, though.
