I design ads for a Subaru dealer on Chinese newspapers, 2 days ago I went to the dealer and they told me to design "coming soon" ads for this TS sedan and another much awaited Subaru --- the facelifted 250hp Legacy.

The dealer said the TS sedan will be available in Feb and the new Legacy in May.

What's different from an RS and a TS?

"wide-track sport suspension"?
Maybe this is to compete with the Spec V's such?

Thats what I was thinking -- is there really a need for it?

I guess the RS sticker price of 27K is pretty high if you look at the competition. You can get a loaded mazda3 GT for 25K.

Yeah but Mazda 3 don't have AWD yet (it use the same S40 frame so it could fit an AWD on it). I think the TS will be have softer suspenison and a very cheap interior and basically the TS wagon ported over to the sedan.

yes it will be a TS wagon in a sedan package - but that is not always bad. Considering how many ppl are modding and stuff, it would be extremely easy to make it an RS or WRX with the parts ppl take off.

Look at www.subaru.ca

TS specs are on the site already, it looks like it does have the "wide track sport tuned suspension".

I can't tell the difference between RS & TS now. The only thing I can notice is the seats, & rear spoiler LOL.

Ya i think the only difference are: spoiler, seats, interior color/materials, shift knob, steering wheel.

Does that justify a 4000$ premium for the RS? Subaru Canada does WEIRD marketing if u ask me.

I think it's ok though coz they got a basic model that fits everyone's budget w/ decent power & stuff. Then WRX & STi for the ppl who's concern about engine performance etc.

well TS has always been the entry lvl of entry lvl cars. 22k isnt cheap but considering ur getting AWD it isnt that bad. If u look at the suzuki aerio (the other cheapest AWD i can think of) is 20+k ... also u must consider it is on demand AWD so that doesnt count as much as the full time AWD the TS has.

Well the RS is like the Mazda3 GT or something like that - better interior and equipment. I think the exhaust is different from the TS as well. I dont think the RS shares that much with the Sedan TS cause the Subaru site is not overly clear on certain thing, some of the features and stuff are the same but shows the TS having it while the RS doesnt. It might not makes since but when u look on the specs page, there r a lot of odd things, like according to that page, the TS has no steering wheel (where it indicates what kind of steering wheel, it has no indication it is either the RS one or the WRX one)

Well that is what i think but if it is almost the same as the RS, who would buy the RS for $8k more?

What i was told from the guys at DD was the RS will no longer be imported into Canada because they couldn't justify a $4000 difference.

Even the wheels are "WRX design". and it will be available in Aspen White, Java Black Pearl, Platinum Silver, and San Remo Red (no green and no dark blue). Fog lights and spoiler are optional. Interior is light gray in normal material like the TS wagon.

So they're just renaming the RS and downgrade it a bit?

from the looks of it yeah, they're just stripping down the RS and putting them as options.

yeah, when someone mentioned wider front track, it sounded like an RS thing.

Wow... are we really losing the 2.5RS? The car that started the Imprezalution?
Oh well... I can now afford an Impreza sedan!!! SWEET!!!
