Randy,
I have seen black mags on a white car before. Personally, I thought it looked gaudy. For your car, I'd say white is the way to go. Ed. |

Do whatever makes YOU happy and forget all the others. I have black rims but I will be adding a reflective red outer lip to it so it doesn't look like I'm riding around without hubcaps. It looks sharp on GT2 in the wheels section.
A + for black rims is that you never have to clean them because you can't see the black brake dust. A definite plus if you race a lot. I also like white rims and will be getting some 17" whites soon too. |

How did you decide on a price of $360 each for 99 wheels? That sounds pretty inflated $.
If they are not that valuable, I would go for white powdercoat. That's my plan for my MY00 white RS sedan. Larry www.ImprezaRS.com New site up! |

I like the white powdercoat but man would they show dirt and dust. I will stick to the silver rims since my car is rally blue.

Fred,
Well, actually they are painted white. I bought them for $390 shipped, and I really don't think that $350 a piece is realistic. Anyways, the paint job is way amatuer so it must go. Don't worry guys, I am going to do whatever I like best, which is get them in white. I just wanted to get some differing opinions before doing the deed. Thanks for the picture josh! They look nice, but I think that white will look better on my car. I like the look of "old dude" randy's white volks, so I basing my decision on that. Thanks again Randy [This message has been edited by rrsettgast (edited May 19, 2000).] |

What color should I powdercoat mine?? I have a silver RS. Also, what do you think about painting the sideskirts silver to match the car. The only problem I can see is that they always get really dirty, and it might end up looking worse than the stock black.

Go with the white
I also dont like black rims because it does look like you have no hub caps. No offence to black rim owners..just my thoughts. Acutally black rims look really nice up close, but far away it looks bad. Yo when you get ur rims done I will pay you 1 million dollars if you can get some pics up. I have a white impreza also and am Really what to see what they look like.TIAAs for the silver subie...Paint the side skirts! Kerik has it done and it (and the rest of his car) Looks realllly nice if ur doing the rims on that car..hmmm I think I would stick with the stock color. Keith |

Thanks, Keith! The only problem I have with the stock color in the first place is that they don't quite match the paint. The rims are a bit brighter, and that bothers me sometimes, but you're probably right. I'll keep 'em silver, then when my tires wear out, I'll get new rims and tires (17 inch).
Then I'll just use the stock rims with snow tires. Thanks again for the input! |
