Default Taking apart fogs

I installed some PIAA bulbs in my RS fogs and one popped immediately when i turned them on. It was just a defectove bulb. Anyway, the inside of the lens is all cloudy, atually more like dusty, and doesnt have the crystal shine like the other does. How can i take the lens off and clean it out? I saw 2 platic tabs on the sides, but after unclipping them, i still couldnt pull it apart. will i have to heat up the housing? Any help is apprer45ciated.

Did you touch the bulbs with your bare fingers? If you get skin oils on the bulbs, they will burst when they heat up (not defective).

that sounds like what happened....as far as opening the fogs...yeah throught them in the oven and bake them the same manner you would a headlight...remember to move those clips BEFORE throwing them in the oven

Default i just did this last week

Take the bulbs out, then bake them in the oven, i found 250 for 20 minutes worked well. 200 degrees just wasnt enough. Then take a flathead and work it in between the housing and glass where the tabs are(its a little thicker glass there) and wiggle it until it comes loose. Then work the glass off gently, careful with the screw driver, you dont want to force to much or else you might chip the glass.

To put back, I would suggest baking them again, then lay a thin layer of silicone in the housing and sqeeze! Put the clips back on! Done deal. Good luck
