Lightbulb Movie???

So, is anyone up for writing a Screenplay.
I was thinking, Has there ever been a flick about Rallying?? I am NOT a writer but I am a photographer and would love to do the shooting-video, photo, film-who's up for it?
Just a though. Seeing all the creative minds on this board, I am sure we could come up with something fun.
Who's up for a challenge?

If you find a writer let me know and I'll do the driving.
We can discuss the specifics of my fee later.

Well FIA will have a F1 movie released within the year with Sly Stanlone(sp?) as an F1 boxer...Uhhhh I mean driver.
Looks like someone needs to show off the down-and-dirty FIA racing. Also being a photographer, I can think of many ways to make a WRC movie extremely thrilling, dramatic, tear jerking, etc...in some cases more than F1 could...Imagine the action...a movie like that could make the weak-stomached sick in the theater from all the action?! Whoo Hoo!

Noone goes for car movies anymore... Think of all the greats that didn't make it too far.

Smokey and the Bandit (1 & 2... 3 was crappy)
Gone In 60 Seconds (which was remade into a drama/action for release this year - the original was better)

Damn, I can't think of any more... But it's the same phenominom(sp) as skating movies like Gleaming the Cube and biking movies like R.A.D. and BMX Bandits.

While it would be cool, I don't think you could bring enough driving action in to make anything big enough for the fans and I don't think you could get the public into it enough, with added drama or action or whatever, to really like it. *shrug* We just need good documentary-type videos. Don't worry, though, once I either get my hands on a digital camcorder or one of my buddies get one we'll make something up. Oh yeah, rallying on RE92's!

I would love to see a Discovery channel documentary on WRC. They do a pretty good job on their documentaries...

Whoo knows....
Road and Track spotted Stallone at the British GrandPrix F1 race last year and said that it was "research" for his new movie about Formula One.
I could care less as long as it's racing...

Yeah It's F1...found info on it:

Here's the into:

Stallone Revs Up Formula One Film

When you think about it, boxing and auto racing aren't that different: both attract fans hoping to see a little blood and gore. Which may explain why Rocky star Sylvester Stallone, after a three-year pursuit, has finally landed the rights to produce a film about Formula One racing. Variety reports that Stallone himself negotiated the deal with British racing bigwig Bernie Ecclestone, who owns the name "Formula One." Stallone, who will produce and hopes to direct the film, but has no plans to star, says the pic will be about four characters in the world of racing. There's still no script, but a 1998 or 1999 start is planned. "Boxing and racing have always been two of my favorite sports," says Stallone. "I've had the opportunity to bring a boxing film to the big screen and now with the assistance of Bernie Ecclestone, we will see extraordinary insights and glimpses of coverage that are inextricable components to this most passionate of speed sports." Roughly translated, that means many cars are going to crash and go boom.

BTW...this article was written in '97 so who knows what the status is...

I think it would be pretty funny if we did a mock documentary about the trunk monkey and how it led subaru to the WRC championships, ha ha ha ha.
