I went to have the car tested because the check engine light was on and the car keeps stalling. The outcome after being tested was that the car's air flow Need some expertise on the s-afc II and how to tune now that everything is installed. It started happening more often when I put the blitz sus air intake on and now even more after I put on the borla catback. Anybody have any thoughts about this.

I'm curious, why did you go for the AFC rather than a proper tuning/reflash?

I have had the s-afc II since I had my 2001 RS so when I purchased the wrx I installed the afc before I started installing the intake and the exhaust and I am a noob with the wrx so I appreciate any help on this, thanks.

perhaps a message forum isnt the best way to tune the safc 1 or 2. try to find someone local with knowledge. its really hard to say what your values should be set at. since maby thing like ambient temp, air, fuel, etc..
try resetting your ecu see if that helps a bit |

subie, I didn't mean for the post to sound offensive, don't worry about it.
It would be best to take it somewhere and have it tuned (which will probably cost just as much as a reflash would). It's a difficult still to acquire. |

I am not taking any offense to it I am just frustrated with the rough idle and the constant stalling. So hopefully someone would be able to help me out and figure out how to set this where i am lost with that and I appreciate your suggestion.
thanks |

the mods would include blitz bov, blitz sus intake, and the borla exhaust. The rough idling kept getting worse when I started putting more mods on the car. Any ideas on that. I will call up turbotrix and see what they think and if it needs to be dynoed I will setup an appointment with them. Thanks guys.

you should be at hotwire 20/20 not 1/1. with that few mods you should definitly not be idling bad. i would take out the safc and see if the idle smoothes out. or you can jsut unplug it and stick a wire from yellow to white to connect the maf wires and turn the car on. if this does not work then there is something else wrong with your car.
also make sure your a/f correction settings are all at zero. |

You can't tune it untill you put it on a dyno with a wideband or get some kind of 0bd2 data logger (www.pocketlogger.com). Try putting your LO values a few into the positive - that should give you a bit higher idle or you can just take that intake off considering all it does is confuse you MAF - or you could check for vacum leaks in the intake area
. Anyways, here are some very useful SAFC tuning guides:http://home.comcast.net/~tarryo/kyle/tuning.html http://www.roadraceengineering.com/newafc-print.htm And incase you have access to a pocketlogger: *keep in mind the guide is for a dsm but it will give you an idea of how use one* http://www.vfaq.com/TMO/Tuning-Tips.htm http://hywell.org/plhelp/data.html Good luck, Zach |

also take a voltage meter and see if the maf sensor is good or if the TPS sensor is good.
