Angry Geico *BAD*

I got this off of a motorcycle site:

Don't support Geico. They subsidize radar/laser guns for the police and thereby help to keep these corrupt revenue generating schemes in place.

Geico helps the police buy radar so that when Geico policy holders get a ticket, they can make double the money by bumping up the premiums on "unsafe drivers" AAAARGGGG! I just keep getting pissed off this morning!

They are cheap though, I pay like 60 bucks a month and I live in Houston which is very expensive for car insurance.

I wonder if they would substidize a V1 for me.

Geico if you've noticed will ask if you use a radar detector when giving a quote, if you say "yes" the rates are higher!

Your higher rate helps subsidize lower rates for government employees!

I got a quote from Geico and they could not touch USAA. Hmmm.. I'm a government employee, why didn't Geico cut me a deal?

Remember, an insurance company is there to make money. That is the objective. How they make their moola is the catch. Sounds like a pretty good racket to me.

Same with speeding tickets. Mostly they are used to subsidize a municipalities income. Again, its good to be king.

But in the end its the politicians that really rankle me. They are the ones that create the laws allowing such activities to take place. Its good to be King.

While GEICO is often much cheaper, they have a reputation for dropping your coverage the minute you file a claim, receive a ticket, or are involved in an accident.
I too switched away from GEICO eventually because the price difference was small. I just hate their direct support of speed enforcement (which they had been doing at LEAST since the early 90's).

I use AAA/Progressive and like it, it saved me over $1000 from my old company... I'm down to like $800/year now. Though that'll go up like $100 for the Impreza RS I think.

Ensure with AAA, they will be very helpful if the other party involved in the car accident is not with AAA.

AAA got the best and largest lawyer team working for them.

I've been with State Farm for almost 10 years and they've been great. For both Impreza's (2000 RS & 1995 L) I've got, I pay $1280.00 per year. That's for both cars, not each. Full coverage 300/100/300 limits and a $250 deductible on both. Last ticket, November 1999, speeding 94 in a 70.

Of course being over 25 & married doesn't hurt!

I used to use GEICO. Then I switched to USAA. I will say that USAA will bury the dogshi_ out of GEICO.
I had a wreck when I had GEICO. What a mistake that was. They wouldn't even work with you on your parts. They wanted the cheapest things they could get. I will never go with GEICO again. If you can get USAA then get it.

Having been an insurance agent I can tell you I got ALOT of business from people that were unhappy with the post incident service from GEICO. They are notorious for strong arming their insureds into using cheaper parts and their repair shops.

Just my experiences.
