Default Turbo Timmer ??'s

I have the HKS type 1 and HKS harness do I have to tap into the ECU and if not what functions will I lose if so how do i do it, the manual does not show the subaru layout .

Yes, even with the harness you still need to tap into the ECU harness, the brown wire is RPM signal wire it taps into C-9(green wire) on the ECU plug. The blue wire is the speed sensor wire it taps into A-1(green with a yellow stripe), the grey wire is the safty circuit and must be attatched to the parking brake wire under the center console if not then the timer count down function of your TT will not function. If you decide not to tap into the ECU you will lose the following functions; Speed display mode, Speed warning mode, Engine RPM warning mode(i.e;shift light), and Quarter mile time mode. If you now decide to tap into the ECU you can down-load the scamatic for the UCE pinouts from www.Ravensblade.com, the locations I gave you above corrospond to that scamatic.(never could spell that darned word).

Is it the same spots for an 04 because they are diffrent colors.

I'm not really sure. You might need to do a search on scoobymods to find out for sure.

when you install it put it in your spare fuze holder, i have the same timer and i try to keep the interior as clutter free as possable
