Default new age impreza: REAR fog-light?

i've seen European & UK GC8s with them.

Anyone have any info on parts & installation or pics of the rear light cluster on a new age impreza with a rear fog-light?

i already searched NASIOC & checked ScoobyMods.

Thanks.

Couldn't you base off some info from this ScoobyMod thread?

http://www.scoobymods.com/forums/sho...light=rear+fog

I know some wiring differences with the new MY04, but it should give you an idea.

Yeah, i saw that thread at Scoobymods...

Before i start a rear fog-light project, though, i'd at least like to know which lamp position in the rear light cluster should be the fog-light.... thus my request for pictures.

I looked into this for my 04 WRX wagon after seeing the rear fog light on a few cars in the Subaru of Australia accessories booklet. The photos show that one of the reverse lights is red instead of clear, and I confirmed that this is indeed the rear fog light. I was quoted $327 plus shipping, but this was for a RH light assembly with fog light. For the US, the rear fog would need to be on the left. Anyhow, you could simply get a red 7440 bulb, install it in place of the LH reverse bulb, and then wire it to come on only with the front fogs on and an 'arming' switch on.

I just remembered that the sedan rear lights are different from the wagon. Sorry. It still looks like you might be able to wire one of the rear lights to come on as a fog. According to the manual, the bottom center bulb is for a tail light only, but it uses a 7443 dual filament 21W/5W bulb. Maybe you could wire the 21W side of the bulb as a fog.

A 21 watt light bulb is bright. Brighter thna you would think. I had a Del Sol that had the Honda EDM fog light that I had installed. It was too bright and I eventually dropped it to an 8 watt. I was afraid I was gonna get pulled over.

Also the center bulb in the taillights is a dual filament bulb. The high wttage side is not wired at all. the wire is under the blue tape. You can use that. I connected mine to the brake circuit. Giving me 3 bulbs per tailight that light up as brake lights.

I re-wired my 1997 VW Golf Cabrio to european style lighting with integrated rear fog on the drivers side using a wiring diagram from an Italian-spec car found on the web and from other VW'ers who did similar conversions.

My 2004 WRX tail lamp setup look exactly like the US-spec VW Golf tail lamp setup. I bet the rewiring would be very similar. I think all you'd have to do is source the rear fog switch and do the re-wiring.

On the sedan, it basicall makes the outer most lights brake lights, the center light a parking light and the inner most lights the fog light. Some have opted for just the driver's side and others wired both as rear fogs. I had only the drivers side wired.

Yeah, you are right. The outer most rear light is for brake light only, it only comes on when brake is applied. However, in NAmerica, this light is on for driving and brake light. The inner rear light is used for rear fog light in countries outside fo NAmerica. This light however comes on as another brake light in NAmerica.

I would like to know where you got the wiring diagram to convert the NAmerican wiring to the European wiring?
