Default old school hatchback Q's

my uncle has an 81 suby hatchback with a dead motor hell give me.
1.do the old hatchbacks have a r-160 rear diff like a xt or gl? considering rwd project. I know r-160's are strong enough because thats what is in datsun 510's, and xts have a lsd for r-160. I'm thinking 13b rotary or l20b/z 5 speed for cheapness.
2.what is the crossmember/engine mount setup for these older hatchbacks like? they have the 1300, right? Ive got a welder and prepared to make the mounts.
3.suspension: what is available for these cars? stiffer stock springs from wagon, from a different car, or what?
4.bolt pattern is 4x130mm right? if so cool thats the same as aircooled vw.
I think if the right parts are available for this thing I might try and make something unique for cheap. otherwise screw it.
thanks for any input.

r-160??

Ummmm in subaru terms.... an 81 hatch should have a 3:90 to 1 rear diff in it which you will also find in Gl's and such that are manual transmission non turbo vehicles. Automatics and turbos tend to have 3:70 rear ends.

The hatchback should either have an EA-71 (1600) or EA81 (1800) CC engine.

Bolt pattern is 4X140 I think.... wheel options are Subaru, Peugeot (504 and 505) and redrilling toyota pickup 6 lug wheels

flow he's talking about the type of diff not the ratio of it. and yes its a R-160, and the bolt pattern is 4-140, and I'm not sure on the rest.

thanks for the input guys. the reason I was wondering if it has an r-160 is that I can use datsun driveshaft and tranny for the swap, but with the wierd bolt pattern, suspension, and other stuff I dont think Im gonna do this. gonna start looking for a starlet.
