Default Contiextremecontacts Good Winter Tires?

I think a local guy has his tires listed on ebay. It's a oppertunity to get like new tires cheap and not have to pay shipping. Do Continental Contiextremecontact make good winter tires? And how are they "all season" if I leave them on all the time. They are 17" tires if that makes a difference.

I really like mine in the wet and now in the snow after testing them out the past few days. They'll get a lil chirpy in the dry and sometimes feel a little disconnected from the road. I'd get them again for the winter though. good luck.

I'm happy with my ContiExtremes. Certainly not comparable to a true snow tire... but easily at the head of the all-season class when it comes to snow traction. It tends to have more problems with really sloppy snow or slush... otherwise they work pretty well. Braking on snow is infinatly better than RE92's.

I have also noticed the *disconnected* feeling with the tires. It has been getting better with mileage though. I haven't even made it to 2K miles but the tires feel much better than when they were first installed.

For the price, I can't complain about them in the dry or rain. They are also good in the snow to a point. If the snow is too deep, the initial turn in is a little scary. It all depends on the speed you are driving at. Too fast and you will slide. If driven sanely in the snow they are fine. I took a turn a little too fast in the snow with these tires and I ended up hitting a curb and badly damaging my wheel and car. On that note, I'm ordering another one to replace the one that I trashed. But, nothing beats snow tires in the snow.

Improvement in every area over the RE-92 IMHO. Not a snow tire, but gets me through the snow without being really scared I plan on putting more air in them once it gets nice/warm out for some good dry traction. I've also tried P7000's and these are much better all around.

I agree, I put more air in them when it is dry out. I've also had p7000's on and they are hella loud when they start to wear out. Conti Extremes are better in the snow than the p7000's IMO.

I'm on the west side of Indy, 10 & 465. If you want to see them in person, give me a PM.
