Default STi radiator cap

I've heard the STi pink radiator caps have caused WRX radiators to fail. Is it ok to use the pink STi radiator cap on the production STi? Thanks.

I'm thinking that you already have it especially because your signature states it. 2004 Sti. That maybe for tuned WRX's (non-Sti).

Factory STi cap is not the same as the STi Pink cap available from sources such as Gruppe-S is what I have been told. I was told the STi Pink cap runs at a higher pressure than the factory STi cap hence my question.

Question is do you really need to run at a higher pressure and risk bursting the radiator?
If you do want to run at higher pressure, maybe you should invest in a stronger radiator at the same time.

Do you know if the STi factory radiator is the same as the WRX and therefore prone to the breaking under higher pressure? That is the info I am in search of.
