Default APS FMIC pipe swap. If you have red chipped pipes look here

I'm not all to sure where to post this since it is kind of a follow up on the APS red flaking post I did last month. Not really a sale item, but I guess the mods will stick it where they see fit.

As luck would have it 2 bungs were neglected to be welded onto my custom silver APS FMIC pipes from the fab shop. After speaking with the powdercoater it has been determined that it would be best/easiest if I just swapped someone else for their pipes and recoat them since the red stuff flakes off but this stuff will be a major ordeal to remove. Kind of pisses me off, but whatcha gonna do.

After custom color coating:

Low and behold it matches the factory silver paint as it was intended to.

FYI, your red APS pipes have a VERY high probability of flaking, just their nature :/ Click here to read on it.

What I'm looking to do, swap out the 2 upper pipes with some one that has red pipes that use the smaller battery since these are the pipes that require you to run the honda smaller battery. I can provide all 4 (all are brand new powder coated silver) with all hose ends if interested in a full swap with the setup that does not need the new battery.

The work ran $142 to be done since it is a custom color with a clear coat applied over it. What I'm ultimately looking to happen: I send you mine, you send me yours. You cover all shipping costs on both ends plus $50. In the end you'll spend about $60-70 to have custom coated pipes and zero down time. If you swap me for the setup that does not need a new battery I just ask you to cover the shipping. These pipes have not been installed and are MINT. I do not want pipes that are bent, dented, cracked, rusted, just flaking. Pictures must be submitted prior to the transaction going down. Loyal posters will only be accepted since I can't afford to have some one scam me out of a set of pipes. These are off of a APS DR650 produced April of 2003.

sure, let me know the color and if I get enough people together I can knock the price down quite a bit. I.E. I can do 2 full sets of APS hard pipes for the same price as one, maybe even 3 sets for that same price.

These are the most common custom colors they use:

There are thousands of others to choose from too. This stuff is the greatest since sliced bread

So are the 650 pipes the same as the 500's? And mine do require the smaller battery. If so I would be down to do it.

EDIT: So you send me your new pipes, I send you my red pipes and we keep them? Or you get mine powdercoated and send them back?

San,
Was your FMIC the APS one that came black or did you paint yours? I like the stealth look of a black FMIC and was considering getting the APS but not if the finish on the pipes (and IC) are gonna flake off in a few months.

you keep my pipes, I keep yours. I've emailed APS so I should know by monday if they are in fact the exact same. If I don't hear from them I can always send you one pipe to compare with. I'm guessing all oder version upper pipes (red ones) are exacatly the same for mass production costs. But then again, this is jsut my guess.

I am under the impression that they are the same size. The only difference being the core. IF so lets do it.

Here are some pics of mine, not as bad as yours, but bad none the less.
