Unhappy I feel left out...

Most people on this board (at least in NE forum) who mods their cars have coupes. I just ordered a silver sedan (no coupes in my region left, at least w/ manual tranny) and feels left out. How could this be? Are sedans not sporty (my friends think they suck)? I really like the sedan (not the spoiler), but oh well, at least I got one. Thanks for letting me waste your time.

Hey Sedans rock! Have you ever tried to get stuff in and out of the back seat in a coupe, IE kids, not fun. This is the first sedan I have ever owned, wish that I bought one sooner.
Anyway the sedan does not look much diffrent than a coupe, only weighs 5LBs more and you get the ease of having rear doors.
BE proud to own one.
Subaru has only made the RS sedan since MY00' So there will be less of them.
Allmost anything that can be done to a coupe can be done to the sedan, so have fun with it.

sedans can be/are sporty. Look at the new WRX, it's only a sedan (and if anyone says the WRX isn't a sport car I'll roshambo you to decide who's right...I go first of course). Having two more doors just means that you can fit your friends/family in the back eaiser. Doesn't take a thing away from the car

I would have bought a sedan if the RS was available as such in '99.

Lower insurance, easier egress into the rear, etc.

I just bought a silver 2001 2.5 rs sedan w/ a manual tranny 12/14 and man i love this car! Dont feel left out man. Are cars are just like the coupes they just have a different spoiler and extra door handles and extra power windows. I like having the extra doors and I'm happy I decided to get the sedan.

The only reason I could imagine to by the coupe would be if it weighed less. It does but by only 5 pounds! The sedan is also a more rigid structure. The "B-pillars" are closer to the center of the vehicle. Sedans rule!!!

I have a big loathing of sedans that comes from the traditional idea that 4 door vehicles are not performance cars. Of course it takes me three or four looks from less than 15 feet away to see that a 4 door RS is not a coup. Sort of shows how well they pulled it off if it is that subtle.

Piper, my coupe wing will be here shortly. Now it will take you even longer to figure out my car is a sedan

...by subtle, you mean the job of turning the sedan into a coupe, because the coupe came later.

I would have bought the RS sedan if it were available in MY98. There isn't any difference between them that I can discern from the drivers seat.

When I went to the Subaru/Panoz school I got to drive identically prepared RS coupes and sedans around Road Atlanta and you can't tell any difference.

Im in MA also, with a sedan. I specifically waited til MY00 for the RS to come in a sedan. I didnt want no silly coupe. The sedan performs just as well for the same price and weighs something trivial like 5 lbs more. Hey, why have 2 doors when you can have 4?

You'll also notice that most of the WRX's and Evo's are 4 doors. Even Prodrive/SWRT used a 4 door until the fender flared 22B style body became available.

I would've gotten a sedan too if it meant lower insurance. Paying $180 a month is tough.

Besides, they look just fine with a little bigger wing on the back.

As much as I love the look of the coupe, I do miss 4 doors. All of my other cars, including my beloved 93 SHO, have been 4 doors. I normally don't have a need to haul more than a passenger (i.e., spouse), on a regular basis, but hauling wallboard in a coupe is a pain in the butt. I think the 4 door sedan looks great and frankly the luxury of a 4 door really does make a difference.

Unhappy

I sometimes wish I had a sedan instead. Especially since we don't have rear folding seats! Although, it gives me an excuse to not give people rides. They see my car and automatically assume my back seats are tiny! Actually, I think they are quite roomy for a car in this class! shhh! Don't tell though.

I don't understand why people keep pointing out the five pound weight difference between the two. Skip lunch, clean out your change holder, and hose the grime off the underside of the chassis, and there's your five pounds right there.
For all intents and purposes, the cars are identical.
I've got a four-door, by the way.

4 doors makes it easier to tote 4 race tires.

I'd bought an RS wagon if there was such as thing in the US.

Naw, sedans aren't sporty, especially not mine.. :-)

(I actually have clear front turns and body-color vents now, but I haven't taken a picture since they've been done...)

I initially regretted getting a 4-door, but after starting moving this week, I changed my mind. I never could have moved 2000 Cds and 1000 videos plus other stuff in 3 hours in a 2-door...

BTW- I work in marlborough, which I think isn't far away from boxboro. But I may be wrong.
