Default jdm gd wrx/sti climate control... plug and play?

it has the auto feature and temp sensor... was wondering if this will just plug in and go in a usdm wrx, and also hoping if it will solve my lack of temp gauge reading on my jdm sti gauge cluster

Nope, the WRX system is purely mechanical for the heat/cool and vent position. The automatic climate control system on the STi has motors to control those, so you'd need to fit those motors and the control system as well.... not an easy swap.

Your temp gague on the cluster is for the outside temp right? Either way our cars wern't fitted with it.

They cheapen the cars to make them more competative here. That why Japan gets all the good stuff. It's because of tariffs and stuff like that. In Japan a RX430 costs $19K new with navigation. her eits like $43K

argh that bites... i'm so tired of seeing the blank outside temp display on my jdm gauges

there is another thread running about how it's been determined that the jdm guage temp display actually read from the temp sensor inside the auto climate control. i was hoping for an easy way out.... not.

As far as your outside temp...Can't you just get wiring from an OBS for the outside temp gauge? I have heard and I think I have seen that on this board that someone did that, and I don't think it is that hard. I know I like having my outside temp and watching it recently go to -4 on the gauge...pretty cool

The outside temp has been taken for already. LJAviation did it. UKScooby is making a plug-n-play harness. Proto should be ready in about 3 weeks.
