I know, I should just put everything on it But, with the brakes I think I'll lose the ability to use my 15" steelies if I do.

Alas, I have my eyes on a new car which I can modify Have to wait till springtime though.

Hmm the brakes sound tempting. Did you notice much of an improvement with them? Would you be willing to sell without the calipers? (the WRX and RS use the same caliper, right?)

Kyle,

Its hard to tell. I upgraded to ss lines at the same time. + I never really got a chnace to test the brakes either

I would consider selling without the calipers, but would rather just include them. I used the WRX ones on my car becuase they were newer (should have less than 10K on them). Not sure if it really makes a difference though.

Lotus - PMing you

LotusTT,

I personally thought the WRX rotors on my 98RS was an improvement. I put the WRX caliper bracket on with new pads and rotors and drove for about a week. IMHO it gave the brakes a more solid feel. As far as braking performance, I'll let you know at the next track day!

I upgraded the rear rotors and calipers to the vented turbo legacy. This was a definite improvement and without a doubt improved the braking feel and performance. I also flushed the entire system with ATE SuperBlue Racing fluid. Not only does it look damn cool, but with the blue dye its easy to tell when the lines are flushed out.

Next upgrade was the single stage brake booster and master cylinder. The was another huge increase in brake feel. Now the brake pedal has a completely linear feel as it passes thru the range of travel. It makes it much easier to modulate your braking in poor traction conditions. I prefer to keep ABS turned off and I could definitely tell it was easier to keep the car stopping fast without locking up a tire.

Next upgrade is Stainless Steel brake lines. I'm hoping to get them installed the Garage Day this coming weekend.

hmmmm, the only problem might be wheel selection. I dont know of too many 18" rims that are 10" wide and have 4" backspacing.... but it would be pretty cool but maybe unneccessary, since now I am on 8.5" front rotors with single piston calipers and rear drums. maybe just a disc conversion to the rear instead will be in order...

Sonofabitch!

My right front caliper is sticking again. I really need to just throw these brakes out, and buy the damn 4-pots... Gaaah.

Wait, are you buying the whole setup? 'Cause I just want the calipers...

He was going to, but didn't really need the calipers. Maybe we could all work something out?

Mgardenier

Of course my preference is to sell it all together, but if I can't in a week or so I'll be more willing to break it up

Well, I'll certainly take the calipers if you don't need 'em.

Kyle- either you can pay him the $150.00 for all of it, then I'll come by and pay you for the calipers, or I'll buy the lot of it and you can pay me for the rotors & brackets.

In either case, only one of us needs to take the trip to wherever TMK is. Where are you located?

--The easy part about this is that LotusTT is right around the corner from me.--
