Sorry had to bring this thread back to life and I thought some may be interested in the idea. I read most of the 740 cc post and posted a similar reply there.

I know some people I have worked with over the years that do laser milling including putting serial #'s on diamonds, etc. I'm 99% sure they could drill more holes with very little size deviation by putting the injectors in a jig or something. The may even be able to drill at the sharp angles the OEM holes subahaulic talks about are made at. Does anyone have a thickness measurement on the metal foil they removed for the 740 cc mod? I want to see how much it would cost to either have a few more holes laser drilled or the existing ones enlarged. Obviously it will only be worth their time if there are a number of people who want it done. So I am going to tell them #'s $150-200 a set of 4 and guess a least a 100 people will want it done? Like I said I think the precision and variance will be nonfactors it will be OEM precision. What do people think about this?

I am also reviving the old thread. Does anybody have a way to do a DIY flowbench of the injectors? I'm interested in modding my stock injectors and I was worried about the angles that people are claiming that the stock holes are at. Has anybody had modded injectors for a long time and had no problems?

I have a injector triggering thingy that I bought from snap on years ago. its made by thexton. it has three settings, you can fire the intector how ever long you want. I use it with a fuel pressure guage on a vehicle. run the pump to pressure then turn the pump off, and trigger the injector, and watch for pressure drop, I do all the injectors to find if we have one that is plugged or not. I have a Sun motor vac machine also and have used it with the injector trigger to watch spray patterns. I guess you could use it to fire the injectors into a tube and compare. I have seen this thing go on ebay for about $50 bucks, after that all you would need is a fuel pump and some sort of regulator.

Cool. Ill have to look for it. What is the longest time you can keep the injector open before it burns out or gets damaged? I was just thinking of getting a pump and pushing fuel at stock pressure through the injector while I trigger it for a certain amount of time (like 1 sec or 30) and just collecting the fuel in a graduated cylinder.

The longest is 100 pulses @ 5 ms, and I have hooked it up to my lab scope, and it hits 100 times every time. OTC makes one too. I will bet thats what the injector guys are using only HD. I have used this set up with my motor vac to clean injectors, it works great. NAPA can get the chemical for cleaning injectors one bottle to one qt. gas (its called MV3 part # 400-0021)
