Default front clip help

Well I got the front clip and its a lot more work than I relized. what my brother and I want to do is put jackstands on the engine crossmember and tranny crossmember unbolt everything and then lift up the shell of the clip off so whats left is the engine and tranny sitting on the jacks.

another thing whats the best way to remove all the wiring off of the clip. i'd prefer if we were able to push it though the fire wall in to the engine comparment so once the clip is off its all of it is connected.

and whats in the engine bay of the jdm clip that I won't be using on my usdm car?

The wiring harness is a PITA. As far as lifting the shell off thats how I did it. Good luck the fun has only begun, wait till your putting that harness into your donor car or figuring the fuel problems, Then there is the whole hydrolic clutch issue.not to mention the steering rack swap. This is just the stuff that i've been hearing about. i havent yet started the install. i'm still collecting the extra parts needed. If you come across a wiring diagram for the JDM cars Send me a link. Later, Vince..

If your front clip is damaged in the front...cut the top and bottom of the rad support out and it will be easier to slide the engine out...or slide the shell off.

For your wiring.:

You will need to unclip a few harnesses to get the wiring out of the car intact. I just took all of the wiring out of a 99RS. Label everything and take pics if you can to remember how things were--you may not need to but it is easier to do it...than to wish you had.

Only disconnect things if you NEED to. There is no reason to cut anything.

The harness will push through the firewall...just put some pressure on rubber grommets until they push in. Use your head: follow the harness from where it enters the engine bay until you reach a clip...then label and unclip. Repeat this 4 or 5 times and you should have a disconnected harness to push through the firewall. The wiring for the main relays under the hood should run from inside the car out under the fender and back in at the nose to the relay box. You can unhook the wiring at the box and push it out through the fender.<<<This harness also continues down and around the front of the car to the other side for lights/foglights and ABS(if you have it).

You will need to remove the dash(EVERYTHING) to access the interior harness. The wiring runs along the inside of the firewall which is behind your heater. The heater is a pain because it will stick to the floor(tar sound-deadening) just get all of the bolts off and start to tug. Remember how it comes out because you'll be taking it out of your project car soon.

Take your time...do it right.
Good Luck
