Default 2.5 RS engine swap with EJ22T

I know this has been done before, and it has grabbed my interest. Where did you guys get your EJ22T engines? How much horsepower and torque does this engine put out stock? And around how much are these engines, i searched on ebay and found zero, are they rare? Any help at all would be appreciated.

I'm also a newb here
please help

I have no idea but I have been thinking about the same thing, unless I want to bore out my 2.5 into a 2.8? I don't know, n/a or forced induction, I can't make up my mind...I kinda like all the low-end torque though, someone help both of us???

As far as getting a motor, watch the private classifieds. There's usually a couple for sale a month. They come out of Legacy Turbo's from 91-94(?). They usually have some pretty high mileage on them, but I believe it's one of the strongest blocks Subaru has ever produced so with some minor work, I think they are still good. I think the last couple setups I saw were going for sub $1000 prices... I think that's pretty typical. Or if you want to do a buildup from a new crate shortblock, subaruwrxparts.com has them in stock. As for hp/tq numbers, I dunno... search. There are people out there running around with these setups.

Just found this in another thread: Subaru Engine Specifications. Again, try browsing Brian's site and searching here for more info
