I think the perception is that someone would have to be crazy to want trade newer, nicer seats for older less desirable seats- and be willing to go through the trouble of swaping them.

I just went the other way and bought 02 WRX seats for my 04. After putting 13k miles on my 04, I just never could get comfortable in it. Almost all of my driving is on the highway for 2 hours or more at a time, and my legs and back would be KILLING me after an hour or so behind the wheel. Different strokes for different folks, I guess...some people LOVE the new ones, I personally didn't fit well in them. Before you go falling in love with the LOOK of the new seats, make sure you spend some time in them!

I've spent lots of time in my seats, at least 2 hrs on a given drive, and their great. Especially when on spirited drives. To each his own.

I have a 02 WRX and an 04 STi. Between the two I find te WRX seats more comfortable and much more supportive. The STi seats seem to be made wide enough for someone weighing 400lbs. I'm a solid 200lbs myself and I don't feel there's enough bolstering on the side of the STi seats.

...maybe we should trade...

pcowan..The seats in the sti are different from the wrx (04)ones..mine are not as wide, i have been in sti seats and liked them but to each his own..If you want to trade your sti seats straight up which i doubt you do i would be willing to do it..Just a thought. Or maybe dave, you and i can do a three way.. That would be cool. Just a thought again. Pm me if your interested.

I am completely willing to trade m 02 seats for some 04 sti seats + whatever else is wanted for them if anyone wants too. I weigh 250lbs and the seats are just a bit too small for me to sit completely comfortable in them.

Before you guys go trading seat around, you might want to consider this

The 04 seats does offer better side protection in an event of a side impact accident (head and chest).

Unfortunately, the 02 and 03 seats are will only protect the chest area.

If safety is not important for a fast car like this, I'll say swap away.

If I own an 04, I would keep them.
Just my 02.

Charlie
