Default Hardcore Bogg & Other Problems...

I've been talking to the guys in the NA forum, but I think this forum might get me the answers...
Anyways, heres the link (EJ22 Problem)

I've got a '99 OBS w/ 109,400miles and I'm throwing 2 CEL codes...

P0170 - Fuel Trim Malfunction (Bank 1)
P1325 - Knock Sensor Circuit Low Input

I've had people suggest bad MAF sensor, bad O2 sensor, old timing belts, and everything else, basically. I don't have the money to take the car in (fearing the dealer will find multiple things wrong) and don't really have money to fix the problem (I will have some soon)...

Thanks in advance for the help
-Ben

Your P0170 is at least 1/2 the cause of your bogging. From the code, it is likely your front air-fuel sensor, not the rear O2 sensor. Your car is having trouble deciding what the air/fuel mixture of your exhaust is, so the ECU is having trouble maintaining a good mixture. The knock sensor on your car is famous for going bad, and is the likely cause of the other 1/2 of your problems. Your knock sensor tells the ECU if it is hearing detonation; if it is, it will retard timing to keep the engine from destroying itself. The two malfunctioning together will make for a very unhappy motor .

I just got a P0170 in my wife's '00 RS. When you mention the front air/fuel sensor, are you referring to the front O2 sensor?

Well, that sucks. Guess it's time to take it in for service. So much for a quick answer

Hmm...thanks. Is there any way to check the sensor to see if it's malfunctioning?
