Default Tranny fluid replacement

For most of you who are changing your own tranny fluid (dino) . Where are you getting the dino oil. Are most of you guys just going to the dealer?

I went by my Honda/Subaru/Chevy dealer. THey sold me chevy tranny oil, said that Subaru does not make their own tranny oil. I hope that is correct. The numbers match up though for the oil type.

My subie dealer said they only have it in drums. Somebody here posted that Subaru now has fluid for WRX trannies, but I haven't seen it. I just got mine at the local auto parts store.

People say that the stock tranny fluid is valvoline, the white bottle. I got mine at Napa auto.

My tranny fluid seemed a little low so I'm about to fill it up. Is it bad that I'm mixing brands? It stills matches up with the GL-5 and 75W-90 dino oil.

This is from the service manual for replacing transmission oil:

".Each oil manufacturer has its own base oil and additives. Thus, do not mix two or more brands."

Of course that refers to draining and refilling the trans.
