Default Sidemarker to turn signal conversion

i've read many posts regarding rewire the sidemarker and make it flash while the turn signal is on. My simple thoughts are just to wire the power and ground with the turn signal's power and ground in the headlight assembly.

However, many posts mentioned a relay and other complicated grounding. Are those just for the sidemarker to be on alone with parking light? I don't see the point of all these parking light function in the first place. So I don't care if they turn on while the parking lights are on.

So can anyone tell me if my thoughts will work? Basically I will cut the original whires and tape each one of them, then use two new wires to connect the sidemark's bulb and splice them to the turn signal in headlight assembly.

thanx

To convert the marker into a blinker-only light, simply re-connect its positive wire to the positive for the turn signals, and keep the ground.
If you want it to operate both as a marker and a blinker, keep the positive wire to the blinker but disconnect the negative from the ground and splice it into the positive for the turn signals on that side.
