Question Loose wires behind the fuse panel

It starts off with my car getting a cel the other day. I'm thinking its because of my up and down pipes causing a cat error. Funny thing is I installed the cel fix during the installation of the pipes?!

Ok so here is the problem I rest the ecu and while I was giving it time to sit I started poking around behind the fuse panel and found two wire connectors (green in color) with only one wire black and red, one black and blue. They looked like a perfect match so I plug them together. Perfect fit!!!!! I connect the battery and turn the key ....the car starts beeping, the fans turn on and I get a blinking cel.. so I take the key out and disconnect the wires as they were in the first place. Took the car for a spin, and everything seems fine. Does anyone know what that wire is for? Help!

The green connectors are only plugged together to activate a diagnostic mode for the ECU that is used by the factory or dealer. It's not something you would ever want to do as an owner, as you just found out the hard way.
I don't think I have to tell you never to do that again
Now, as for the CEL you didn't do the right thing to find out what was wrong. Rather than reset the ECU, which erases the code from memory so it can't be read, you should have had the car scanned and the code read out. That way you would know what caused the light to come on.
Since you didn't actually fix anything, it's highly likely the light will come on again soon. When it does, get it scanned. Unfortunately you're in CA so you can't go to an Autozone for this service like in other states, so you should check in your local forum for nearby members who have scanners.

AFAIK they will do it in any state other than CA, they stopped there because of legal issues.
