Default Car Is Running!

I fired up my WRX swaped, TEC-2 powered, 98RS for the first time last night. She started and idled well, thanks to a map from a fellow EJ20 Tec-2 borad member. She drove well until there was a funny drivetrain noise...? It should be known that there is an entire WRX drivetrain in my car including a rear subframe. Second, there was a burning coolant smell and some smoky issues under the hood....but what can I expect having done all the work by myself! Thanks to my buddy Rob, the Tec-2 intstall is almost finished off perfectly....just need to clean up some wires, and figure out how to get the speedo to work, along with the coolant gauge. I think I damage the fuel level sensor when I installed my Walbro pump?? Its been a long and involved project...but I heard my BOV for the first time last night...IT WAS SWEET MUSIC TO MY EARS!!! Thats all for now.

Hey let me know when you get all your gauges to work.

I have a TEC 3 and none of my gauges work either. So i am in need of getting them to work while i go ahead and relace the block that i just killed in the first day of driving the car.

let me know

thanks

Sorry to hear about your block.....what are you running as a setup? I will keep you up to date on my progress with the gauges. My tach works, and my CEL, because they are both wires directly to the TEC-2. The coolant gauge seems nautoriously problematic. The fuel gauge I'm sure is my fault...did something to it when I put the Walbro pump in....hopefully the float is stuck or something. The speedo I haven't tried wiring yet, but I don't think there will be a problem. I will let you know how I solve everything though. I also swapped the AT out of my RS in place of a WRX 5MT. That had a bit of its own wiring issues to deal with.
