Question Jdm Engine?!

OK, I'm still racking my brain trying to decide the best engine to get for my 96 Impreza Brighton. Now, Im new at this so please supply me with some specifics. Thank you!

1st: I've seen the ver. 3 mentioned. How many versions are there? What are the differences between them?

2nd: I want a strong engine, but I also want it to be flexible, meaning I don't want to have to install alot of new parts to accomidate it. Knowing this, what would you say is the best engine for me?

3rd: I am considering to later on installing an aftermarket turbo kit. Should I buy a turbo engine? Or should I just wait for the kit?

4th: What would I have to add to my car to accomidate a turbo engine? What is the most horsepower I can get out of a nonturbo stock engine?

+How much do these engines run and where can I get them?

+What is the average shipping cost to get one to me?

+Has anyone had one installed by a company?

+Is it best to do it yourself?

+How much can a do it yourself job run?

+How much can a professional job run?

THANK YOU!

i think you should post with the title: want to changeing engine to differnt one. or mabye you could learn how to read and read the FAQ.
you can addd lots of horsepower to a non-turbo engine with turbo kit, but if you add turbo kit to turbo engine, even more the power add. just as tehy say, ENGINE powAr CREAToR

i love my type R!!!

how smart are you? if you are a noob to engine swaping and never wired anything then having someone else do it is best
what engine do you have? you'll have to upgrade a lot to make a turbo car run good upgrade fuel injectors blah blah blah
theres 8 verisons so far
verison 1-2 are kinda the same 93-96 238-258hp some Ra's closed deck some arn't
verison 3-4 use the RS style hood 97-98 diffused headlights shaper style 278hp ish?
verison 5-6 uses are current style RS front bumpers with some little differences same hp as 3-4 some has DCCD tranny 99-01?
verison 7-8 are the 02-04 bug eye headlights and the new age 04 style usdm sti is 300hp jdm is like what same as 5-6?
