Default Need to identify right ignition coil wire for tach sense

In the middle of a remote start install on my 04 Sti, looking to tap into a tach wire on the ignition coil harness below the window washer fluid reservoir.

Anyways, I've checked out Netz's explanation of which wire to go for, but it is not clear which coil I am looking at.

Below the washer I see to main conectors, the top one being brown, the one below being black. I do see a solid yellow wire which may be the ignition coil 4 pin 8 yellow wire for the tach, however, not sure this is correct, as the space is so tight pin numbers are not really available....

Any suggestions on this, or should I just go for the tach off the ecm...

Thanks.

you can learn tach off any of ignition coil wires i've listed. you can meter this wire by setting your meter to AC, ground the black probe and use the red to test the wire. have someone press the accelerator to vary the rpm and the values should increase and decrease appropriately.

the connector is brown f60 under the windshield washer reservoir.

BritSti - so you know I have a 04 STi also. NetZ's info is awesome. I used the tach of the ECU for a Compustar. It worked perfect the first time. Just make sure to use a diode and test the wire first. I'm no professional at installing... but I take my time and get it done as perfect as possible (running wires, soldiering etc). When your looking at the ECU harness - just make sure your looking at it from the correct side. If you look at it from the one side the numbering of wires is backwards.
