Default Help highbeams acting up

My highs are staying on with my lows. When I turn on the highs the highbeam symbol in the cluster gets brighter
anyone go through this before

it's an 02 wrx with a 04 headlight and a bixenon retrofit

We checked the relays under the hood and tried swapping them around

Have you changed anything or did this just happen?

Make sure you're high beams AREN'T grounded to the chassis.

The last thing I did was get rid of my home made wire harness and put a nice premade one from theretrofitsource.com. Everything worked fine for a few days. Then, one morning I turned the car on and bamm there it was. Highbeam symbol. I just unpluged the entire harness out of the 9007 socket and it's still there. It's so puzzling. The only way to get rid of it is to unplug the pass side hl relay but then the highs don't work at all.

I could be wrong, but I'm pretty sure all your headlights are always getting +12V, and just waiting for a ground to turn them on. It sounds like your high beams are grounded directly to the chassis for some reason (if they're ALWAYS on), or shorted to the low beam signal wire if they're ALWAYS on when the lows are.

Hahahahahahahahahahahahah thanks for your help I'm sooooo stupid. My fog button was pressed and I have no fogs any more so it was triggering the highs. We pulled the entire harness out and checked all relays under the dash and glovebox. What a waste of time. I've been worried for the last month about it. Oh well hopefully this will help someone else down the road.
