Default Capitol raceway 1/4 mile strip opens in one month (on 3/7). Who's game for a meet?

I went once last March and it was pretty empty. I'd like to get my drag racing fix for the year before I put my summer wheels/tires back on. Is anybody interested?

http://www.capitolraceway.com/

Opening day will be Sunday March 7th for Test & Tune from 12 to 5 (gates open at 11:30)
TEST &TUNE 2004 $20 TO RACE $10 TO WATCH

Has anyone ran their car at MIR? I'm going to down there on the same day for test and tune. If its basically the same I'll go to CAP.

MIR is a more professional facility... Nicer in general... BUT, if you wanna run your car, I'd go to Capitol. Down at MIR, you're lucky to get two runs. At Capitol, you'll be able to run as many times as you want...

capitol you may get 4 runs. it's crowded more than you'd think. But opening day is a lot of fun in my opinion. plus they gave out free log books last time i went, i think 2 years ago.

I think I'll come down for this. I'm interested to see my numbers. Any stock WRXs going? I need to run against someone I might have a chance against.

I'll try to go, and lord knows you whoop me.

I'm always down for some dragging. I don't stand a chance against most of you guys anymore, though. You should be able to count me in.

the best I've done is 14.1, that was with a stage 1 unichip, up pipe. I had a MBC, but I didn't know that some how the tubing split, so I dont know if that means I have a LOT of boost or low boost levels. Since then I've fixed the boost controller and added a Downpipe and hopefully a catback exhaust. I would love to see the 13's but the night I went to CAP the heavy modified cars were only pulling 13.8s and one guy did a 13.6

I think I have a lot to work on.

<--------- 14.71@92 mph bone stock (3/4 tank of gas, and loads of gear in the car) .

(this was after a few 15+ sec runs. my worst was 15.6 )

I still haven't done any mods. If the weather is decent enough, I may be up for a grand opening run.

Hmm.. I may be down. Though, I believe if you run < 14 you need a helmet, correct?

correct. They ask what your car runs first. I suppose they would tell you that after your sub 14 second run that you need a helmet next time.

They should, but they don't. You can just tell them you expect to run in the 14s. I'll wait for Fatray to chime in, but I'm pretty sure I saw him running in the 12s without a helmet (and a baby seat in the back of his wagon)
