Default 15k maintenance

Hi guys,

Its time to do my 15k maintenance, and I was wondering if its possible to do it myself. I know its a maintenance but it wont hurt to ask some of you guys what I needed to do? and also is there a 15k maintenance check list I can have or download from you guys?

Thanks for the help

Thumbs up

It's in the manual, but it's basically just an oil change, tire rotation, and some light inspections. $325 is criminal. You can definitely do it yourself.

Follow the Maintenance Schedule booklet in your glovebox. All the answers are within.

Any moderate mechanic can do everything from a maintenance standpoint aside from the timing belt. A jack, some stands, some basic tools, and a helper now and again. In fact, put all the money the dealer would siphon into tools, and you'll be ahead of the game.

Just make sure you document and keep receipts, to prove to the dealer the maintenance was done should warranty issues creep up.

But, DIY!

wow, $325 is just way to much for a 15k maintenance, I called Subaru at Sierra Subaru, the lady told me 15k service would cost up to $100 or a little bit more, if Mobile1 is required. Go and grab the maintenance service check list at the dealer. It tells you all you need to check for what maintenance.
Im not sure, if I will go and take it to the dealer to do my 15k, but to save a buk or two, I think DIY is the key word.

Thanks alot guys.

For a DIY you could almost a complete tune-up with subby oem parts for 50.00 or 78.00 if it is a wrx, for crying out loud that price of 325.00 is highway robbery.

thanks for all the reply...yea i'm thinking of doing it my self....its just that the WRX is my first new car...(new as is bought it off the dealer with like 14 miles on it) and just trying to be extra careful. I've tuned up others (96 supra TT and 91 300zx N/A) but since they were used and abused didnt really care for them. Also i got the check list like some of you guys told me and most of it is inspect belts.....how am i suppose to inspect the belts? just check if they are there?????
