Default Valentine's dinner, where to go?

I need some ideas on where I can go for a multi course dinner.
Any input is greatly appreciated.
I'm in Los Angeles.

thanks,

The Orange Hill resturant is great. Good food and an amazing view all the way to the ocean. Then they have fire pits outside so you can have an after dinner drink and checkout the view.

I tried getting reservations for there 3 weeks ago, all booked

You probably won't be able to get to fancy without something already planned out.

I guess one thing to try as an alternative is to just try cooking something yourself. Have a candle light dinner at home. Then if you still want to do something afterwards you can always take off to the movies, somewhere you like to hang out... somewhere with a nice view, that would be next question to ask us.

The Inn of the 7th Ray is a nice place. It's on Topanga Canyon, in the canyon between Ventura and PCH.

Stay at home and cook for her. It's inexpensive and romantic. A wonderful gesture!!! She'll remember it a lot longer than taking her anywhere. And remember: YOU do the dishes! Top it off with candlelight and a movie and cuddling after.
PS... FLOWERS!!!! I canít stress this enough!

Actually, in all seriousness, Geoffry's of Malibu if you can get a res will ensure post-dinner coital. Le Petit Bistro is always nice and there are a couple of L.A. locations. In Pasadena, you can try Cafe Santorini on the balcony (nice lights and all, especially if the weather is nice and it should be.) If you want to be all fancy and stuff, try the following: get a multi course picnic basket from either Marmalade Cafe (Malibu or Santa Monica,) or Bristol Farms or any other picnic basket place (Marmalede is REALLY good for that,) a bottle of wine, and stake out a spot at sunset along Point Dume beach in Malibu. Just make sure you hide the wine on the beach...semabe has tried this to great success.

I don't want to be a stickler for a valentine's night out, but if you haven't made reservations to a restaurant by now, I would consider going to the market and making a romantic dinner instead.

As a last ditch effort, I would try going to the four seasons hotel in Beverly Hills or some fine hotel near your area, and as the concierge to try and hook it up with reservations at a restaurant of your choice, since they do have some tables saved for the guests at their hotel.

In any case, good luck!
