Default Lowering an OBS

If I were to say, lower my OBS to a bit lower than teh L wagon, what componetry would that involve? I was thinking struts and springs, but is there anything I'm missing?

You could lower it a bit with springs only. I'm not sure if WRX springs would fit, but that would lower it. That's really all you need to lower it about 1.6" front, 1.8" rear. Or even more. Do some cross referencing, and find out if they are generally the same size around, 'cause you know they will be shorter/stiffer. You could probably pick up used ones cheap$ Brian

Hmm, I did a search and another guy with a GC8 OBS lowered his using V6 struts and P1 springs. Anyone have any experience with these?

I have and o2 OBS and the 02 wrx ver 7 parts bolted up perfectly. As long as you use the same wrx parts that are from the wagon of the same range of years you will be fine.

I would go with Legacy L struts or GT struts and then WRX springs or different lowering springs that will lower it.

You have a bunch of different ways to go, including using RS struts and springs, which a lot of people do, or you can get wagon specific stuff. Just do a search on here, or look at some companies for wagon. Remember they did make STi/and WRX wagons in the older body style before they came here to N. America. I wouldn't use the new WRX struts and springs unless your OBS is newer 2002+. If you need more specifics just do a search on here, or give me a shout. Also how much do you want to spend, what kind of ride do you want, how much of a drop... etc etc... a lot of questions to be answered. Also think about shocks, top hats, etc....
Oh and one other thing, you said OBS, which I take is your outback sport, impreza... and not a legacy. Either way you can find parts, but if it is a impreza, try posting on the impreza model forum. peace, ~Erick

My last car was a Legacy, an L to be exact, good car but it was a pig. I'm more of a fan of the GC Imprezas than Legacies. I'm also too broke to afford a Legacy or a WRX anyway. The car I'm driving now wasn't exactly my choice in automobiles but some people on here have done some nice things with OBSes.

I'd like to eventually lower it and convert it into a V5 look-a-like with maybe a USDM WRX powertain.

GC8's are hawt!

sszyma-You wanna get rid of your old stock suspension. I want the OBS stuff for rallycrossing my Brighton. I'm in Indy, so it would be cheap to send, or we could meet. Let me know.

Anyone else have their stock OBS stuff sitting around. I want somewhat low miles.
