Default Weird Cel Code!!!

ok heres the situation, my up pipe/downpipe were stock prior to this particular CEL, then i installed the PDE catless up pipe and PDE catless down pipe and i get a CEL. i scan it with my OBDII scanner and i get 2 codes of the exact same DTC: P1311 Manufacturer. Fuel/Air Metering (2 codes of this, identical) so i erase it, i put the resister back in the EGT probe(which i took out when i was doing the up pipe) and i start my car up again and back it comes. i have absolutely no idea what this is and its annoying as hell. please help me before i go insane!!

It's not your EGT sensor, it's your air/fuel sensor causing the code.

how did you install your up-pipe? Did you remove the turbo and pull it out through the top? Also, check your front O2 sensor for broken wires.

P1131 Front oxygen sensor circuit malfunction (short circuit)

I believe the DTCs in the 1000 range are manufacturer specific, so a generic obd2 scanner may not give the right diagnosis with the number.

i removed the passenger side exhaust manifold, then i jacked up the motor slightly and pulled the old up-pipe out the bottom then installed the aftermarket up pipe the same way. i havent had time to check it yet since ive been busy with school and work, im going to try to check it tomorrow night, is it ok to drive it for now? would that also explain why my car smells godawful even though its not running cats i dont think its supposed to be this bad, it smells like a diesel dump truck.

Um. If you have no cats, your exhaust will stink, there's no avoiding that. What do you think the cats are there for?

It sounds like you hosed your front O2 sensor during the installation. $135 bucks for a new one or something like that.

152 on subaruparts.com.....since you took off the passenger side manifold, chances are, you either unplugged the o2 or removed it from the manifold....double check you're connection before buying a new one......das where the front o2 is located, tapped in on the pass. mani.

No, air fuel sensor. It's either the one in your collector or the O2 sensor in your cat. My bet is the one in the collector though.

cant be the one in the cat cause lol i dont have any cats, plus according to the thread on here about CELs 1131 is front o2 sensor short circuit so hopefully if its not fried all the way i can repair it and use some high-temp sheathing over it if not i guess its a new o2 sensor unless someones parting out a car :-P
