Brat seats for the back of my Baja

Just bought a Baja Last week and I want to mount some Brat seats in the back. Anyone know where I can buy a set?

I'd do a nationwide search of junkyards. There's a good number of sites out there. I doubt Subaru has any left, but its worth giving SOA a try.

Humm, I saw an accident not too long where a pickup truck with trailer flipped over because he was going too fast on a descent and hit brake and boom! Unfortunately, several migrant workers (news report afterwards) were on the bed. Some died later. I saw them fly up in the air like dolls, and I can still clearly remember that scene. It's up to you, but please don't put your loved ones there when you are driving. Bird watching, fishing (?) and camping (??) on the bed is fun, but not when you are driving. Just my 2 cents.

If everyone doesn't remember, the Brat seats in the bed had seatbelts, if my memory serves me correctly.

I seriously doubt those seat belts are going to protect your head when a 3,600+ lb vehicle lands on top of you!!!

but the seats might be leagel, so no ticket. And I agree, very stupid place to have seats, even for the brat in it's day.

Subaru's main intention on installing seats in the bed were to have the truck classified as a car and beat the tariff's that were being added to import trucks in the 1970's (28% for trucks, 3% for cars). Pretty smart. As far as the danger, I wonder how nerdy you would have looked back in the 70's strapped into one. Actually, I don't recall ever seeing anyone in the back of one. Come to think of it, I don't recall ever seeing any Brats back then either!!!!

I used to see them all of the time up in washington. But I NEVER saw a single person riding in the back.

Not sure if it's true, but I heard that insuring an old Brat's real expensive - too much liability with those bed seats. Would mounting them to a Baja invalidate your insurance policy (assuming you didn't inform your agent of this modification)?
