Nice bar.
Where did you get your HID'S, they also look great?
Are you going to use clear covers on the HID'S?

Wow, nice HIDs, thatís some light on the front of our car. And the bar looks great. The only thing I would change is where they put the ballasts.

if you get a chance can you take a pic of the HID 4000's while they are on. I am curious. I have the non HID one and was considering converting them.

the ballasts are mounted where they are for two reasons, the first being easy removal of the bar. i can remove/reinstall teh bar in about 15 minutes with the ballasts attached to the bar like that. the second being the relatively short wires between the ballasts and the lamps themselves.

the HID version of the 4000's is actually dimensionally larger than teh halogen version, i do not know if it is possible to convert, and a "kit" like you would put in your headlights would probably produce less than wonderful results.

this is the only picture I have to demonstrate teh light they put out, the light from the right is my lights, the light from behind the camera is from the hella 2000's belonging to Dan Coughnour, ProRally Series Manager.

big pic:

The next time i have them on teh car i need to take a little more time to tweak their aim.. that close to the ground they, unfortunately, thow far too much light on the ground and not enough light out, i think i can bring them up a little bit an dhelp out, but i'm still blind over crests.

Hey Safir:

Sno*Drift 2004 - A Win-Sands parking lot, saw your car there. I worked heavy sweep for the event. I wondered how to get in touch. NASIOC to the rescue again.

The car, the bar, and the lights look great.

Do you mind providing info about the fabricator. I'd be interested in something similar for the STi.

Thanks,
Eric

Heh I was, and have been for years, MTC IN all weekend at sno drift

unfortunately while the work was great andi am very happy with the bar itself, i cannot reccomend the fabricator I had do it due to problems with this and other projects with him. I have had another skilled fabricator have a look at it and might be able to get you in touch with him, I will talk to him and send you a PM in a day or two.

I just made a similar light bar for my STI. I made mine with the lights a little higher closer to the hood. I working on getting a picture of it. I should have a pic in a day or two and I 'll post if possible.

If you guys like you guys can check out www.rallyinnovations.com . They are making one for my 03 WRX for similar lights. There is also a post in the Official NASIOC Vendor pages here: http://forums.nasioc.com/forums/show...ight=light+bar

Thanks, I saw that bar and it looks cool.

I am however worried about the long bars sticking out to the sides. A slight dip on a TSD event could push the bar through the radiator, or worse. Without those bars damage in that situation might be limited to plastic parts. If nothing else, my "truckin" days taught me a lot about preventing and surviving "minor" damage to critical parts.

Any other suggestions are welcome. Maybe enough demand will inspire someone to build something for a group buy, hint hint!

first time I saw this bar it had no lights on it. It was an auto-x and the guy was using it as a cone bashing-deflecto-shield. I later mewith a guy who had one on his car that had managed to protect himself from damaging the front lip when he rammed the bar instead of the lip into the dirt after a poorly judge offroad incident. Its pretty sturdy and is attached on the underside to the frame. After talking with the owner of the company, I had enough faith in them to build me something custom. Should be done soon I got three rallies coming this month alone (2 Monties and a TSD)
