Koni Inserts...how do they work?

I've been reading about the Koni Inserts and have gotten alot of positive feedback about the Koni/Prodrive spring combo.

My question is what is the deal with cutting stock struts? Is it just the perch that you take off stock and put it on the Koni?

If someone could post a DIY Koni install or a link to how detailed the installation is that would be great.

so basically the stock housing, perch and mount is used and the insert is just bolted into the empty stock housing?

That doesn't seem too hard.

Yup that's the basic idea, I'm sure there's going to be some difference between a nissan and a subaru, but a strut is pretty much the same setup on any car.
