Not Cobb. They had to increase the price because making the units cost more than they expected.

$595 is still a good deal for what you get.

But personally, I think I will jump in while the $555 price is still good.

It'll let you reflash cheaper sure, but there are very few maps for it. I talked to them last week inquiring about what kind of turbos they will map for and they told me that they will map for the VF30/34. That's it. No other maps for different turbos forseen in the near future. A few months after the release they will have a map for the VF30/34 with a TMIC If you're planning on strictly following their maps you will have very limited options for larger turbos. If you want to have more options, get a custom reflash.

...until the AccessTuner comes out in a couple more months, then you can make your own maps for your custom setup.

Well because they havent finished it yet, no one would know. But like they way they are handling the reflash to port. You will get a discount I would think.

And you will only get told to do a search if you post a random, question that has been answered 50 times before.

Yes you can upgrade from the access port to the accesstuner or the protuner when they become available. You will have to send the unit back to Cobb though for a firmware update.

Don

PS

The info is on their website

For what you spend in total for Access Tuner, which BTW is going to have 2 versions, street and pro, for a few more bucks you can have AEM EMS and have infinately adjustability for parts. This is what I'm currently looking at. I'm at that point where I can't do much more for power except a turbo/inj (header with uppipe, turbo back, ground wires, tmic, pullys, stage 2 reflash, filter, samcos, and radiator soon) and I want to be able to run whatever I choose. AT least with all I've done I'll have good supporting mods for it.

How long have they been advertising this solution? Who has installed it? Who is interested in vaporware?

03WRX83 - That's per the pre-order agreement on the web site. Upgrade users pre-pay the $160 + S&H. I don't think we've tried to do anything but make that VERY clear to everyone ordering.

In regards to the AccessTUNER, I think it would be wise to wait until we actually announce its capabilities before we start making assumptions as to its limitations. Agreed, something along the lines of a stand alone ECU like the GEMS ...err, I mean AEM does offer the ultimate flexibility but there's a bit of work involved to try and get the car to drive under normal conditions as well as it did stock.

The AccessTUNER won't be advance enough for everyone, but it definitely won't be a kiddie-toy.

Cheers,
Trey @ COBB Tuning
