Unhappy

Usually new cars grow on me a bit. Why does the new Impreza keep looking worse. It looks like a cartoon car in those pictures. I'm sure if I drove one I'd be grinning from ear to ear but I wouldn't look at the car after driving it because it would taint the experience.

That wing is rediculous. but i hate to say it, This car is growing on me, quickly. I was one of the firsts to bash the new look, not i'm kinda liking it... but then again, it is a bit too "mainstream" in terms of looks, and that may make them popular

Sweet! I love the new look. The interior looks very good those headlights and whaletail are very Porchesque. The STI is a little too ricey though, that wing is aweful. The other body tack ons are pretty decent (front end in particular). Did anybody notice the STI stickers with arrows pointing to the parts, I'm sure this will be the latest rice trend.

What's up with the wheels and BRAKES? They appear to be the same as on the RS. If the blue car is the STi version, then why not four pot brakes and 17" wheels? It's kind of SCARY to think that they're going to give the Aussies and UK guys more power than before, but inferior brakes.

At least the blue car appears to have good STi seats. Some of the pictures posted yesterday showed regular RS type seats with no shoulder support.

I'm stick'n with my exsisting RS for now. Then, if they put an H6 in the Legacy sedan, that will be my next car.

The multi-headlight looks expensive to replace, if it gets busted. Better get some 3M clear protectant.

Did anyone else notice the pop out in the front bumper by the fog light? A place to help hold your rally light bat?

The car also appears to have flairs front and rear. Bigger tires??? Although the flairs don't seem to quite merge into the center of the car smoothly...

I wonder what the WRC car will look like...

I think JGard18 hit the nail on the head. They want this car to be more widely accepted with the new look.

Thumbs down

The car still looks like a Toon Town Ride to me. That car would look right at home in Who Framed Roger Rabbit.

I was going to turbo my 99 rs in oct. or nov. but now I think I am going to take my 99 rs and trade it in and use the 5,000.00 I have saved up for the turbo as a down payment and get the WRX I did not like the new body at first.....but there is something with these Pic's it just looks realy good. I like it. I like the interer shots as well. But the blue (STI) WRX.....WTF were thay thinking with that wing????

calmliquid, i'm starting to think the same thing. i can't believe i'm saying this, but the more i look at it, the more i like it. but it think i'm going to wait until the second model year of that style, gotta see if they actually do become popular or not... because if so, then i can't get one, but if they're still exclusive, i'm on it!

The only way SOA will get me into one of those ugly bastards is if they take off the 2 extraneous doors.
If it was ugly, but a 2 door, I could deal. Perhaps a bodykit would make it look presentable. But ugly AND a 4 door only? There's just no hope.

I was also one of the first to slam the new look. I have also crumbled and will most likely buy one as I have been seduced by the power train. I figure ugly is only skin deep and I can do some aftermarket plastic surgery to solve the ugly.

I can't say that my 2000 RS is exactly a thing of beauty. I bought it for the drive train. My "thing of beauty" car is my new E46 M3 that is on order for fall delivery.

Don't ask me where I am going to park all these damned cars.

I just took another look at the rear end. Those tail lights are just aching for a skyline-style cover up with the two round lights. I wonder how hard that would be?

I'm thinking those arrows are just for demonstration use..

I'm pretty sure they are just pointing out the difference between the WRX and the STI

I know, I want to see some big glossy pics of the WRX wagon. The STi version cars are not supposed to be out until October. I think the car pictured here is just a WRX plus some STi accessories (like the gauges, spoiler, body items, and probably that air induction setup under the hood. Why no discussion of what is under the hood yet??

Remember, the STi car is supposed to get the 6 speed manual trans too.

Cool

I think those pics are fake!!! LOL!!! If you look at the small spot behind the rear wheel in the 5th picture, underneath the bumper, the shadow seems a bit messed up to me! LOL!

Anyways, I'm sticking by my guns. This car looks really really good. KC, I'll meet you at the dealership right? As I remember we (and a few others) were the only ones that liked it off the bat. Now look! Told y'all this car looks good!!!
