Impreza WRX UTEC serial cable.

Hey guys, just wondering where you guys have your serial cable located. I couldn't find a space big enough to feed it into the glove box so in the meantime it's sitting under my floormats.

Thanks.

I fed mine down the passenger side of the trans tunnel and had it come out underneath the passenger seat.

How did you get the connector between the dash and box door? I looked for a spot right in the middle and it didn't seem possible without either removing some material or removing the door temporarily.

Do you get enough slack to bring it up and connect to your laptop/PDA?

Yes there was plenty. I would set my laptop on the passenger seat. There was even enough for the laptop to be on someones lap if they were riding shot gun.

If I remember right the serial cable was around 6ft.

Just try it. Worst case scenario is that you waste 5 minutes of your life.

Sounds good. I like that idea of it being out of the way and hidden like that.

Now do you have the factory sub under the right seat? I have that option and am hoping it doesn't cause a problem.

Yes I have the sub. It was actually nice to have because it kept the cable from falling back towards the rear of the seat. I could always find the cable really easily.

Awesome, I'll have to give this a go next time I have access to the garage, or you know, when it gets warmer and I can do it out front w/o freezing to death!

btw, when you feed that serial cable, put some e-tape on the
terminals so that you don't get any debris in the cable
terminals while not in use.

mine's fed up into the glove box too.

Mine's like mbiker97, fed under the center console. it generally comes out beside the seat, although I just keep feeding it to the back seat. When I need it I just reach back and grab it. plenty of slack.
