OT: GranTurismo2 - whats your top speed?

so I was really bored the other night and a friend and I decided to see how fast we could get a car to go on the 'max-speed' test.

Escudo Pikes Peak - 257.20 mph

Anyone beat that? With what car?

The Nissan R390 or whatever that thing is... the one with like 800 something hp... I got somewhere around 285. i don't have the game anymore, but i know it was somewhere close to 300, and it was defenitely that Nissan with the mid-mounted engine that costs like 2mil.

I think there was a similar post a while ago, and guys were getting up to like 500 mph and the cars were lifting off the ground. Little bug in the game or something like that.
Although, at 500 mph, it would be hard to keep a car on the ground in real life.

The fastest i ever got was 265mph with the Drag 180SX, 261mph with Escudo. How in the world do you guys get the damn things to go 280 mph? I dont think theres enough room...

Dude, that Nissan rocks. the speed 12 was pretty good, too... but if you play with the gearing enough, you can do it... oh, and make sure the spoilers are set as weak as possible.

There's a bug in the Motor Land Speedway, if you do about three laps then do the track backwards, you get off the track and go into a grey flat area, you can get max speed there. The little red dot just goes right off the screen.

Rider, I have no idea, but I've downloaded dexdrive saves with "hybrid" cars that have like 40000 hp or something crazy like that

do you mean do a couple laps normally, then just start driving back around in reverse? And you will just drive off the track, as in the road just ends?

It is possible to pull 280, but you have to have other cars on the track. Drafting, my friends, is the fast way around the track
