Question Custom-face gauge question-

Just wondering, when you put different faced gauges on, is it really that hard to get your speedo and tach right again? I've heard the discussion before, but never really got a straight answer as to how much effort exactly is involved in setting them right again.
Also, do you have to get gauges that match the originals (i.e. if the original speedo ends at 140mph, could you have the new one end at 120mph and still have it work properly)? Can anyone help?

Question

I have a similar question (though fundamentally different): I read off the Cobb Tuning website that the swap for the Japanese dash is for "off-road" use - I think it's because it resets the odometer. Apparently my car needed a new dash board. So if my shop swapped in a new dash board, it should be able to keep the odometer reading for the swap to be "street-legal". Now given that the US cars read miles and us Canadians read KMs (so does the Japanese), I wonder if us Canadians can swap in the Japanese dash and still keep the odometer intact. That would be cool if possible - tach in middle, speedo goes up to 260KM/h add a turbo & the right 6spd, and you use all of the speedo
