Do normal knock a little when tuning???
What AFR should I run on 93 octane? Should I lower boost and raise timing above 19-22 5k-7k, @ 17psi, or should I Raise boost and lower timing even more? I don't feel like I have the HP gains for this setup that I should but knock is rather limiting me to anything, back of 2 degrees when I hit it. Vs. an STi we are only talking about 2-3 car lengths from 20mph rollon to 80. I feel as if it should be better than this; should it? ---- TIMING MAP ---- [-100] [-100] [-100] [-100] [-100] [-100] [-100] [-100] [-100] [-100] [-100] [-100] [-100] [-100] [-100] [-100] [-100] [-100] [-100] [-100] [-100] [-100] [-100] [-100] [-100] [-100] [-100] [30] [30] [19] [16] [15] [12] [-100] [-100] [-100] [-100] [-100] [30] [30] [19] [16] [15] [12] [-100] [-100] [-100] [-100] [-100] [30] [30] [19] [16] [15] [12] [-100] [-100] [-100] [-100] [-100] [30] [30] [19] [16] [15] [12] [-100] [-100] [-100] [-100] [-100] [30] [30] [19] [16] [15] [12] [-100] [-100] [-100] [-100] [-100] [30] [30] [19] [16] [15] [12] [-100] [-100] [-100] [-100] [-100] [30] [30] [19] [16] [15] [12] [-100] [-100] [-100] [-100] [-100] [30] [30] [19] [16] [15] [12] [-100] [-100] [-100] [-100] [-100] [27] [27] [19] [16] [15] [12] [-100] [-100] [-100] [-100] [-100] [24] [24] [19] [16] [15] [12] [-100] [-100] [-100] [-100] [-100] [22] [22] [18] [16] [15] [12] [-100] [-100] [-100] [-100] [-100] [19] [19] [17] [16] [15] [12] [-100] [-100] [-100] [-100] [-100] [17] [17] [16] [16] [15] [12] [-100] [-100] [-100] [-100] [-100] [17] [17] [17] [16] [15] [13] [-100] [-100] [-100] [-100] [-100] [18] [18] [17] [17] [16] [14] [-100] [-100] [-100] [-100] [-100] [18] [18] [18] [17] [16] [15] [-100] [-100] [-100] [-100] [-100] [20] [20] [19] [18] [17] [16] [-100] [-100] [-100] [-100] [-100] [22] [21] [20] [19] [18] [17] [-100] [-100] [-100] [-100] [-100] [22] [22] [20] [19] [18] [18] [-100] [-100] [-100] [-100] [-100] [22] [22] [20] [20] [19] [18] [-100] [-100] [-100] [-100] [-100] [22] [22] [21] [21] [20] [19] [-100] [-100] [-100] [-100] [-100] [23] [23] [22] [22] [21] [19] [-100] [-100] [-100] [-100] [-100] [23] [23] [22] [22] [21] [20] [-100] [-100] [-100] [-100] [-100] [24] [24] [22] [22] [21] [20] [-100] [-100] [-100] [-100] [-100] [25] [25] [23] [23] [21] [20] [-100] [-100] [-100] [-100] [-100] [25] [25] [23] [23] [21] [20] [-100] [-100] [-100] [-100] [-100] [25] [25] [23] [23] [21] [20] [-100] [-100] [-100] [-100] [-100] [25] [25] [23] [23] [21] [20] [-100] [-100] [-100] [-100] [-100] [25] [25] [23] [23] [21] [20] [-100] [-100] [-100] [-100] [-100] [25] [25] [23] [23] [21] [20] [-100] [-100] [-100] [-100] [-100] [25] [25] [23] [23] [21] [20] [-100] [-100] [-100] [-100] [-100] [25] [25] [23] [23] [21] [20] [-100] [-100] [-100] [-100] [-100] [25] [25] [23] [23] [21] [20] [-100] [-100] [-100] [-100] [-100] [25] [25] [23] [23] [21] [20] [-100] [-100] [-100] [-100] [-100] [25] [25] [23] [23] [21] [20] [-100] [-100] [-100] [-100] [-100] [-100] [-100] [-100] [-100] [-100] [-100] [-100] [-100] [-100] [-100] [-100] [-100] [-100] [-100] [-100] [-100] [-100] [-100] [-100] [-100] [-100] [-100] [-100] [-100] [-100] [-100] [-100] [-100] ---- Current AFR is 10.8-11.1:1, should I richen more for timing and boost? besides your map that 20mph roll is one of your primary problem.
the wrx just does not do well from a rolling start especially from 20-30mph which is between top of 1st and bottom of 2nd gears. |

You can only squeeze so much power from making timing changes.
You map looks pretty but there is room for improvement early on (10-50% @ 2000-3500 RPM). Without a log that map doesn't say much. A way to tackle knock is to look at the value the stock ECU was attempting to make and go from there. I run anywher between 7-12 degrees of advance from that value. Start with +3 and adjust as you can. I've read a few of your posts and can only suggest using MS Excel to plot where in your map the car is hitting when you test; and knock. That will show you how little of the map you use normally and where you need to make changes. I suggest using one spreadsheet for multiple pulls. Example (one of my first conservative maps): |
