Default Props to jay25RS and Circuit City install

Awhile back I inquired whether installs at Circuit City is reliable. I was looking at Polk/Momo's at the time. Anyway, jay25RS is an installer at the Milford/Orange (CT) Circuit City and replied to my question. Along the way he provided valuable information and suggestions via PM.

I drove over an hour to his Circuit City location although there are 2 locations within 15 minutes from me.

I bought an Alpine 9813 headunit, Infinity 5000CS for the front, 4002i for for the rear and an Infinity Basslink. I brought an amp bought elsewhere... a JL 300/4.

Obviously, CC is not a custom shop and so I could not get crazy with requesting the Polk/Momo's or going with 6 1/2's or even 5 1/4's in the rear because they would require special spacers.

But if you are looking for a clean install with decent components (I think I got Circuit City's 'top-of-the-line' for a WRX without special material) I recommend contacting jay25RS if you are not going to install yourself.

The trip was well worth it! I wasn't looking for custom installations with very high-end components. I just wanted a decent system for a decent price but not compromise sound quality and crappy installation. The guy knows his stuff and he owns a WRX. He took care of my WRX Wagon as if it was his. I mean the guy was so meticulous that he put all of the extra unsued stuff and neatly repacked them into the appropriate boxes.

Thanks again!!! The follwing is the original question I posted if you want to see what transpired.

No offense, but I used to work at BB, and half the people working there *came* from CC. (like, when the store started, half the people from CC down the street moved into a new job)

It may just be this particular CC I live near by, but I have a lot of bad things to say.

on the other hand, you took it to a guy who evidentally knows his stuff. and of course you took it to a guy who *knows* your car before you enter. And that's always a good thing.

Good to hear that you are happy. Friday at lunch I put in my deck. I was too cheap (and unpaid) to get a wiring harness... so I did my own hard wire job. It sounds great. did a good job. always have though.

Like I said, I drove over an hour to his location even though there are 2 Circuit City locations near me.

He fully knows car audio and Scooby's and that't the reason why I went to him.
