All your answers are in the thread on subaruforester.com

In short I couldn't be happier with the setup, and it could've come from the factory this way.

Maestro:

"Maestro and I linked up yesterday first thing in the morning and started on his car first since his suspension was completely assembled already. His car is an 04 Forester Xt and the suspension was that of an 04 WRX STI. Special things to note with this are: None really, His complete system bolted rigth in. Yes Top hats and all. There was no need for zip ties for the brake lines or abs lines. It literally bolted right in. We did unbolt the swaybar on the rear to allow for a little more lag but that was only one 14mm nut."

What search words did you use to find the whole assembly on EBAY? Do you have a link to the auction you won?

Thanks.

Bob

The easiest way to find STi suspensions on eBay is this:
(1) go to ebaymotors.com (2) click on 'parts and accessories' (3) click on 'suspension and steering' (3) enter 'sti' into the search window (4) voila, start your bidding

or, just enter 'sti' at ebaymotors, and you will see everything sti on eBay...

This is the auction that I went for... The buyer ended early, but i purchased the setup from him afterwards for $540 shipped to my door:

Just picked up that set from Chaste for my 04 FXT. Can't wait to bolt it in. Wife complains that it handles like a truck (its her car). I hope it's not too jostly. If so I may have to part with them to someone else on the board.
I should probably upgrade my rear swaybar too....

haven't switched out the wheels yet, but it'll either be 18's or 19's... Properly fitted 18's shouldn't rub at all, but as for the 19's...we'll see

Hey guys, are any of you looking to get rid of your stock forester XT suspension? I may be interested if the price is right.

Default installed, wife says too bumpy

Well it only took me about 2 hours with power tools to get this done. They do bolt right up. The RR did require disconnecting the sway but otherwise was simple.
The ride height is not a problem at all, it is essentially the same height as my WRX wagon on a stock suspension. Wheel clearance looks fine.
The ride is of course crisper, not quite as responsive as I would like, but alas I have Geolanders still.
However it does seem to give a little of the "low rider" chop when the car rises and falls with the pavement. Actual divets and bumps aren't the problem ie it doesn't jostle you to death, just a slight bit of a secondary wave with quick dips and rises.
Then again I'm getting older and it's not my car. I think I'd keep them if it was my primary car, but it's not so they'll be coming off sometime soon.
If somebody wants them PM me, I'll place an ad when I get them off the car. I don't want to make a profit, but don't expect to lose any money either. I will have to pay for a realignment though.....

By the way I did add a 20mm STI sway as well, and it is nice, but not as noticeable as the struts...

Did that give you a lot of negative camber?

Suprisingly, none. I need an alignment, but thats simply because of my wheels, I wore them in with a bad alignment and now the car pulls a little bit to the left.
