Default for those with oem rubber floor mats, did u lay them over stock carpet mats?

other cars can just lay em over the stock carpet floor mats but for ours, the rubber mats don't cover the carpet mats fully.

That's because they're not meant to. Pull out the carpet mats and put the rubber mats in. At the end of the winter, swap them back.

YOu don't want to stack them up. The rubber mats tend to migrate toward the front of the car. If both mats get jammed under a brake pedal, you might have some troubles.

Actually, I've had more problems with movement of the rubber pads when it is JUST the rubber pad there... i've had clutch engagement issues because the rubber mat had slid so far forward. I put my rubber mats on top of my regular floor mats and they stay in place 100% of the time. It may have something to do with the regular floor mats have 2-3x as many little pin things to hold it in compared to the rubber ones, and the rubber pins being able to hold into the deeper carpet on the floor mats better than just the thinner carpet on the floor.

Might have to try that. My rubber pads slide up behind the pedals all of the time. I figured that an extra pad might be enough to cause some trouble.

If that doesn't do it, I'm going to poke some holes in the pan and bolt them down.

Just use one rubber

Seriously, the rubber mats alone are fine, and the grips on the bottom keep them in place

My rubber mat migrate forward too. I have to pull them back a couple times a week.
I want to do something to hook them to the peg that holds the carpet mats in.

I have my rubber mats over the stock mats and they move maybe an inch or so during the course of every week or so. This setup has served me really well as my stock carpeted mats are in new condition still

Doesn't ever get in the way of the pedals either

The dealer just threw my rubber mats on top of the carpet mats and I've never had a problem with movement. Initially I was going to take out the carpet ones but got too lazy and now it's been that way for over a year!

I don't have the Subaru rubber mats but the ones I bought from Target go over my stock carpet mats.

I took the regular ones out a long time ago. I just run the rubber ones all year round.

I have the rubber mats by themselves. For those of you with movement problems, try putting a small hole in the back left corner and looping a zip tie to the mat anchor.

for those with the rubber mats over the stock carpet mats, do the rubber mats fully cover your stock carpet mats? i noticed that there are many uncovered areas. looks like the rubber floor mats are a lot smaller. hope i didn't get a wrong size or anything.

The all-weather rubber mats are smaller. I have them over my stock carpet mats without movement.
