Default subaru upgraded speakers and subs

I am wondering how the subaru upgraded speakers, tweeters, and subwoofer under the seats are handeling at full blast. I got an aftermarket head unit and it distorts everything with a volume past 30. I have no clue if I should go with a different company or not. Just need suggestions.

Get an AMP for your speakers.

wont an AMP just make my speakers more distorted and blow them out quicker? Should I be looking at the 1000 watt amps?

Running an amp that's more powerful than the speakers can handle allows the head unit and amp to run at a lower level, in other words, they don't have to work as hard to make the same sound level. I would look into getting new speakers as well if you really like louder music, as few factory units will hold up very long under hard use.

Alright...I Will get an amp. Any suggestions to speakers? I have been told to stay away from the jbl power series. How bout some pioneer equipment? I really need the best I can get. (simply looking for 4 6 by 1/2 speakers and an amp to go with them.

Default IMO

I've been very satisfied with the Polk EX subs I've got. So, I think I'd also like their dB6500 component set. Anything by Infinity is also a good choice. If you want the best sound, go with the component set, which gives you the separate tweeter you can mount wherever. Put a set in the front and rear and the sound will fill the interior like no regular door speaker alone can. Firgure $100 a pair for regular door speakers, or $200 a pair for the component sets. I'd go with the component sets, personally.

I've never much liked JBL, and most of the Pioneer equipment we've owned has lived a very short life. They both have always struck me as just cheap. My Polk's are two years old now and are holding up great, even after being driven quite hard quite often. My dad's always used Infinity for the house and his cars, and they too seem to live forvever, and sound great at the same time.

Here's the numbers of some things to check out:
Standard: Infinity Reference 6002si
Component: Infinity Reference 6000cs, Polk dB 6500

Well infinity I like for 1 reason. WE got upgraded speakers in my moms van and they were infanity. Only blew out 1 sub but other that they are awsome. I am really interested in the KAPPA63.5I
6-1/2" 3-way multielement loudspeaker pair. I will get a decent amp to run 4 of them.

Default Nice Choice

I think you'll like those, although I'd still rather have the tweeter mounted separately. Wiring might be a pain with the separate x-over. Good luck though, tell me how they sound!
