Default re-paint it all black??

I recently had a minor fender bender which means I have to have a front panel and front bumper repaired and repainted. I have never been a fan of the silver colored cladding. So, for an extra $1000, Maaco is willing to repaint all the cladding and rear bumper to match the black on top. Then it will look like the '04 Turbo on the Subie website. So, is it worth it?

well, it won't exactly look like the 04 turbo. The Black is a 2 tone, black with onyx cladding. That is what is on mine.

I think it would make your baja look more like a truck that someone just lowered but I have seen a pic of an all blue baja done up like it's ralley car brother with the Yellow logo down the sides and I have to admit that it looked really cool I guess in the long run It's your baja so If you like it then your question is answered.

My fiancee got her entire car painted for about $430 from Maaco. IMO, it wasn't worth it, not only did the guy do extremely crappy work, he actually stole her change from inside. He refused to fix his mistakes, and after continued contact, he finally gave in and said bring it back in a few weeks. We decided we'd rather deal with the blemishes than have him touch it again.

If you do get a paint job from Maaco or similar company, I would do the taping myself. That way he won't get it on the rubber insulation around windows, on the glass itself, on the radiator, etc. If I was to ever get my car painted, I'd personally take it to a more reputable place. For $1000, I'm sure you could probably find a better place to do it for that same price.

Default Maaco Sucks!

Maaco in Texas painted our old Suburban, the bastards painted over bird crap!!! Didn't even wash the thing before they went to work. If he's going to charge $1000 as well, don't walk, run!!!

My wife had her car painted by Maaco here in Texas and I can't remember any specific details, but I do remember being very disapointed and feeling like we wasted a big pile o' money.

We decided that we would never go there again and we'd pay twice as much to get a good job done elsewhere.

If you look at the thread I just brought back (modded BAJA pics), we had all the body panels removed and painted black.

I think that it looks sharp.
