Default Searched to no avail on my utec?????'s

I was asking, and searching for an answer to this question..What are expected gains to the wheels, with utec and uppipe..And i know im gonna get flamed about the search function...I tried it,and it brings up every other stage from two-four..But none for one,and a little above..Any answers or dyno plots would be even better..thanks for your patience with us newbies..Justin

If what it said on TXS website wasn't a good estimate, it wouldn't last very long. It has.
There are MANY satisfied TXS customers here, myself included.

If you think consumers aren't biased, you haven't been around internet chat boards very long. People are always apt to say/think the product they own is better than ones they don't. So take what you read with a grain of salt when it isn't a factual, objective statement.

The power and torque numbers for stg 1 don't include the uppipe, so the stock stage 1 program needs to be tweaked. It is open loop, so to go to closed loop is another tweak. Of course you can pay for a custom tweaking via dynamometer.

I once had the standard TXS stg 1 unichip (with stock muffler and k and n filter, and no airbox hack). It felt good to me, but I went back to fresh stock filters and upward adding TXS parts and to the UTEC for management.

Nathan at TXS is a straight forward technical guy. If I were you I would call and ask him questions.

Despite all the crap i said about their previous owner's manual
version, I am very pleased with my UTEC.

I have no reason to doubt the power numbers TXS puts on their website.

My personal experience is that I have yet to get a decent tune in my UTEC. That's my fault, not anyone else's. I started off with their generic, conservative Stage 2 map. I definitely felt better acceleration but it wasn't exploiting the boost available. At that point I think I was getting around 10-11 psi max.

At some point I started getting knock events. Got someone to help me tune it but the problems never went away completely. They just suddenly got worse and, of course, it's three days before I'm supposed to go to the track.

Tuning is beyond my comfort zone. I've read as much material as I can get my hands on and it still hasn't sunk in.

So, for what it's worth, the UTEC is a great tool, if you know how to use it.

From what I've observed, an uppipe and full turbo back exhaust, with a drop in filter and either a dynotuned utec or ecutek setup and you'll be very happy with a reliable car (assuming you dont flog the trans).

Then theres the rest of us.

And most of us have broken cars right now
