Question is this a gppd price for Apexi exhaust?

Hey,
I got a quote installed for a ful catback system of Apexi N1 exhaust system. It includes silencer, full midpipe 2.25, exhaust...anyway...the price was 515 plus tax installed. I was wondering if this sounded like a good price or not.
Thanks

Is that the factory piping, or done in a local shop?

Im guessing the latter becasue they send it with 60mm (2.36") from the factory, which I bought once upon a time for $585 (catback,, with silencer) from Dale Teague.

so thats probably a decent price if you really desire the N1 muffler.

Well if you are in LI you can try Cooks
i think they are located some where around exit 59 off LIE. I heard that they are pretty good, they do lots of mandrel bent. If you are in the city area you can stop by DRT located in queens around queens blvd and BQE. That is where i got my piping all mandrel bent. I am very satisfy with the result. I got the Apexi N1 turbo universal muffler for 185 which is a pretty good price.
Got the turbo muffler cuz i am planning to turbo charge my car and i am too lazy to go get another muffler.
Hope the info help in some way
laters

hey Michael,
I'd actually like to take a look at your exhaust system. You gonna be anywhere near Stony Brook anytime recently? If not, I could meet you somewhere near Queens, Brookyln, or the city..my gf lives in chinatown in Manhatten, so i'm always near there or in there with her...so I could probably meet you up and everything..i'd like to get a listen to how loud the N1 really is.
I'll take a ride to Cooks during the week hopefully.

The muffler can be found for around $200 from a few places (or at least it could, I have heard rumors about shortages of the N1). So if the shop is custom making the midpipe, hangers, etc. from the quote they gave you that portion is about $300.

I had a local shop quote me $220 for the piping amd install if I supplied the muffler (I don't believe it was stainless piping though, since I live in AZ and never see snow). I decided to go with the factory made A'pexi N1 for the Subaru instead. The factory built version is between $480 and $580 depending on where you buy it.

Again if the mufflers are indeed in short supply then the prices may be different.

Thumbs up

I got my N1 from UPRD in Huntington Beach California Thursday. It was 225.00.That was the N1 for N/A cars. The canister is a lttle smaller in diameter and the inlet is approx
2.5". And the tip is a little bit smaller.
The N1 for turbo cars, canister is about 7" in diameter and the tip is about 5".Its pretty big.More ground clearance with the one I got.
Local muffler shop used 2.5" aluminized steel tubing from the cat back.It is not mandrel bent. They charged me 104.00 for the job.
The car seems to rev much freer and seems to pull a little harder from 3500 rpm up. The sound is incredible. Its pretty loud when you really get on it.
I'll have some pic's up by monday on my web page.
