Question OBS exhaust same as RS exhaust?

My wife and I are thinking about getting her an OBS. I think the N1 on our RS has warped our minds because the first thing both of us said was "look at that small exhaust tip" on the OBS.

Do cat-back exhausts made for the RS bolt up to the OBS? Or is the exhaust piping different?

Thanks,

Aaron

It is the same. I have an OBS and I installed the RS exhaust. Perfect fit!

Prezios,

Thanks. I have my RS exhaust sitting in my garage and was wondering if I could just throw that on the OBS if we get one.

Did you notice any differences with the RS exhaust? Louder/Quiter? More/Less power? Is the OBS piping the same diameter as the RS piping? Sorry for all the questions

Thanks,

Aaron

Thumbs up

The only thing that I can say is different is the tip. Everything else is the same. No change in performance. Good luck in your search for an OBS!

Before you ask yes that is the stromung duel tip muffler. I just put on the RS Muffler because the noise was getting to me. When I get in the mood for more noise I will be putting it back on!

Running a MY97OBS with the Stomung Dual Tip.

Completely interchangeable between the two for exhaust.

Obviously OBS 2.2 vs. RS 2.5 in performance respects when tuning.

Thanks in advance,

Adam

THe stock Impreza piping is 1 7/8" diameter. It has a resonator after the cat before the muffler. U can switch around in the case of the Stromungs. IMHO u will not get any gains by switching mufflers as by the time the gas reaches the muffler, it's velocity would be substantially slower than from the midpipe. U get the muffler for sound. If you are staying N/A, 2.25" is the optimal size exhaust tubing.
